Wow. I can honsetly say this is as close to perfect as possible.
I love the pennants flying off her staff, and the colouring of the dress is just sublime.
In fact, I should have voted for 'godlike' - I don't know why I didn't.

Come on you lazy lot of ne'er do wells, get voting!

The only problem with the pennants is that Vecna had a hard time making the camera focus on the model, it almost always blurred somewhere.

I've noticed that if you look real carefull you can se that the white dress is seethrough.

I've seen the model firsthand and I don't think the pictures capture her real haircolour very well. There is a lot more depth in the blond hair than the pictures shows.

I'd love to learn those techniques, especially since I wanted to do something new with my damsels.

Looks to me like thinlayers of paint wet-blended into each other, but the see-through effect.....I have absolutely no idea....

The rest of the model is relatively simple to re-create (not that it isn't a terrific model!), I think I could just aboutmanage it, but that dress?....HELP VECNA!! TELL ME ALL YOUR SECRETS!!!! :p;)

You are absolutly right Tom I've blended the paint directly on the model to make the transitions as close to invisible as possible. The cape is a bit more complex though as I have used the patterns to highlight and shade the cape itself.

I'll be happy to make a tutorial about the seethrough dress, It will probably be finished Sunday.

Anyway thanks for the comment, as most model painters I just love getting response on my work. Speaking of it have you seen my Bretonnia army yet? I know that the pictures is a bit blured but you probably get the idea.

Yeah, that's some amazing work for a whole army vecna. I'm going to try my bret's with a white colour scheme and red details. The white will only be for the knights outer-garments, the peasants will all have different coloured clothes, browns and greens mostly, maybe some bone coloured - to represent them coming to fight straight from the fields after a long day's parsnip gathering or whatever it is they do all day.

And get typing! I need that tutorial! :p;)

If I could paint as well as you I'd be like "j00 guys ar3 t3h n00b - I'm t3h win 4ev3r!!!1! Cheesy:D

Maybe one day.....

Ah ha! Cheesy

Well, in the earlier days of the internet when people played a lot of Shoot-em-up games, they developed a language they could use to talk to each other without people on the other team understanding. It's called "leet speak", short for Elite. Now it's reckoned to be anoying and has got a bad reputation. Despite that, everybody uses it at some time or another  Cool.

What I typed was "You guys are rubbish, I'm the best in the world!!!
If I could paint as well as vecna, I'd be saying that all the time Cheesy;)

Here's a website that explains it better....http://www.classicart.biz/733t/733tspeak.htm

Yes I agree, he had some problems with taking pictures of the Damsel though because of the varnish which gave the model a very shiny look on pictures. Luckily he found a tecnique to minimize the shine Grin
